More precisely, the CPU architecture is called s390x or z/Architecture [1].
The ABI is documented here: [2]
> cfarm191 is running Debian 13 "trixie", while cfarm192 is running Ubuntu 26.04 "Resolute".
cfarm191 has a GCC that can also compile 32-bit binaries ("gcc -m31");
that's the older "s390" architecture. Nice!
Those who want to run such a machine locally in a VM can do so via
QEMU [3][4][5].
