Ah, that fixed it, thanks, I was missing /usr/ccs/bin.

Speaking of /usr/ccs/bin, it's nice to have an excuse to haul out my Version 7
Unix manuals again.

(OK, it's not quite that bad, but several things are pre-Posix at least, e.g.
/bin/sh doesn't understand "$(...)" but requires `...`).
