From cfarm-announces at lists.tetaneutral.net Mon Mar 9 12:35:43 2026 From: cfarm-announces at lists.tetaneutral.net (CFarm Annoucements) Date: Mon, 9 Mar 2026 12:35:43 +0100 Subject: [cfarm-announces] Decommissioning cfarm186, cfarm187 and cfarm188 at OSUOSL (and general update on OSUOSL datacenter move) Message-ID: Hello, The three x86_64 hosts at OSUOSL (cfarm186, cfarm187, cfarm188) will be shutdown on **March 26th**. They are running old hardware and cannot be moved to the new OSUOSL datacenter. No data will be kept, make sure to backup important files you might have on these machines. New x86_64 machines are being set up to replace these systems. The closest farm machine at OSUOSL is currently cfarm136, running Debian 14 "forky". Another Debian machine will be available soon at OSUOSL, and other operating systems might be provided in the future. As some of you may know, OSUOSL is moving to a new datacenter: while several of our machines have been moved with less than a day of downtime and no other visible impact, sometimes there can be more impactful changes for some of our machines. Please follow https://portal.cfarm.net/news/ closely for announcements about old machines being decommissioned and new machines being setup. We apologize for the short notice for some of these changes, but this is another friendly reminder that cfarm offers no guarantee on data persistence, and that you should always keep a copy of your files somewhere else. Baptiste, for cfarm-admins
